Lois B. Gent

February 11, 1927 — March 23, 2015

Lois B Gent was united with her Lord and Savior early Monday morning, March 23, 2015. Born in Endicott, 88 years ago, Lois was one of 9 children born to Walter and Clarinda Bowen. She was predeceased her husband, Sidney E. Gent her son, Sidney W. Gent and her siblings, Dick, Bob, Larry, Ronnie and Thomas Bowen. Lois is survived by her children: Marjorie (Allan) Kotmel and William (Jill) Gent, grandchildren: Allan Jr. (Iris) Kotmel, David Kotmel ; 2 great grandchildren: Alexander and Melina; her brother, Gerry Bowen and sisters: Marjorie (Richard) Keith and Betty (Lawrence) Carmon, many nieces, nephews cousins and dear friends.Lois had a strong abiding faith and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Newark Valley. She was a great cook, enjoyed making many different crafts, loved quilting and thoroughly enjoyed camping with Sid and her boys and meeting many new friends in the Apawaga Camping Club. She also worked for the NV School cafeteria. She loved living in Newark Valley but always looked forward to wintering in Florida. Lois family would like to thank the staff on 2 N, Vestal Park Rehabilitation and Nursing for the wonderful care given to Lois. Friends are invited to a period of visitation and sharing of memories on Friday from 6-8 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley and to her Funeral Service and Celebration of Life on Saturday at 11 am. Pastor Rollin Howard, family friend, will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Hope Cemetery.
