Lexie J. Snyder

Lexie Jean Snyder, lovingly known as “Mom,” went home to be with Jesus on April 12, 2025, at the age of 81. Her warm heart, joyful spirit, and beautiful smile left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jo (Bastow) and her husband Bill Scheidt of Ephrata, PA, and Janene (Bastow) and her husband Skip Williams of Newark Valley, NY. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Erica (Kurt) Strenck, Brianna Scheidt, Dylan (Christy) Williams, and Kyle (Morgan) Williams. Her legacy continues through her cherished great-grandchildren, Charlie and Emma Strenck. Lexie will also be missed by the father of her daughters Fran Bastow and his wife Kathy.

Lexie had a special gift for brightening the days of those around her with her infectious smile and kind nature. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life-watching birds from her backyard, tending to her garden, listening to music, and caring for animals. Above all, she loved her family fiercely and unconditionally, with a heart as big as the sky.

Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the love she so freely gave.

A private family service will be held at the MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley. Lexie will be laid to rest next to her husband, the late John C. Snyder at Tioga Cemetery on Saturday May 3, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Memories and condolences can be shared in her online guestbook at www.macphersonfh.com.
