Lawrence Kasmarcik, Sr. 73, of Berkshire, passed away at his home on July 12, 2012 following a brief illness.Larry is survived by his wife, Betty (Anderson) Kasmarcik and his children: Kristine (Joseph) Tomazin, Lawrence, Jr, Keith (Penny), Michael (Sandy) and Robert (fianc Tammy); his grandchildren: John (fianc Kelly), Matthew (Lindsey) Tomazin, Larry, Lacey, Keith, Jr. (fianc Geena), Krysti (Kendon) Woods, Scott, Angella, Nina, Destiny, Alexis, Sabrina; great grandchildren: Kolyn, Elijah, Corey. Also surviving are his brothers: Walter, Jr., Victor (Delores), Kenneth (Nancy), Steven (Joanne), Stuart (Debra), Nancy Miller, Sharon (Robert) Wilson; sisters-in-law: Sandy and Jolene Kasmarcik; nieces, nephews, cousins, many close friends including neighbors Dave and Gloria Hotaling, and Mike Arnold.Larry was born in Binghamton on May 14, 1939 a son of Lillian (Morris) and Walter Kasmarcik, Sr. and was also predeceased by his brothers, David and Gerald. He was a graduate of Vestal High School, Class of 1956 and served as Newark Valley Highway Superintendent for many years in addition to operating his farm. He enjoyed nature and all outdoors.His family will receive friends on Wed., from 9-11 am at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley. A Memorial Service will follow there at 11 am with Rev. Jerry Platz, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Berkshire, officiating. Inurnment will follow in Hope Cemetery.
