Lawrence D. Isham

Lawrence D. Isham, 82, of Owego, NY, passed away on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014 following a brief illness.Larry is survived by his children: Gwendolyn Isham, Kathleen 'Casey' Moore and husband, Michael, Debra Isham and Darrell Isham; their mother, Sabra Isham; his brother, Gaylord Isham; grandchildren: Justin, Aaron, Dustin, Kara, Damien, Kristina, Ashley and great grandchildren: Dominick, Natalie, Haiven and Lucas. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and sisters-in-law, also survive.Born in Richford, NY, Larry was the son of the late Lawrence and Claudia Isham. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Robert C. and David A. Isham and his very good friend and fellow auction fan, Willard Foster. He served in the US Air Force as a jet fighter mechanic. Following his discharge, he continued working as an auto mechanic at various dealerships in the area eventually establishing his own business in Owego. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, a talented woodworker, enjoyed nature and in addition to his family loved his dog,Snooky. Larry will be remembered for many things, including his determination and steadfast work ethic, his honesty and unreserved opinions, and his smile.Larry's family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley, Friday evening from 5-7 pm to share memories and celebrate his life.Those wishing to honor Larry's memory, are asked to kindly consider Stray Haven, 194 Shepherd Rd.
