Lavern Tuttle

LaVern Tuttle, 84, of Newark Valley, NY, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Friday, July 9, 2021. LaVern will be missed by his wife, Lillian; his sons: Kevin (Kim) Tuttle and Patrick Cartwright; brothers: Clifford (Sandy) Tuttle and Tom (Bonnie) Morton; 13 grandchildren; 33 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. LaVern was predeceased by his parents, his sons Ralph Cartwright and Alvin Tuttle, his brother Gerald Tuttle. We are grieved at the passing of another beloved family member, LaVerns daughter Betty Cartwright who left us on the same day as LaVern on July 9, 2021. LaVern was born in Endicott, NY, on December 17, 1936, the son of the late Edson William Tuttle and Lillian Belle Morton. He graduated high school at Union Endicott and served his country in the United States Air Force for over three years. He was a lucky man to marry Lillian Lunn on April 14, 1961, and they have shared over 60 years together. LaVern was dedicated to his family and a hard worker who wore many hats. He first and foremost worked as a carpenter but also owned and operated his own farm on Elmer Hill. Family and friends are invited to the West Newark Cemetery (5795 West Creek Rd, Newark Valley, NY 13811) for a graveside service and military honors where LaVern will be laid to rest on July 12, 2021 at 12 pm.
