Laura M. Hopkinsof BerkshireA mother holds her childs hand for a little while and their hearts foreverOur loving mother and grandmother Laura M. Hopkins, 91, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014. Laura was welcomed into heaven by her husband Richard, who passed away on July 24, 2013 and her sister-in-law Marian Stevens who passed away on February 28, 2014. Laura will be greatly missed by her children: Jody (Robert) Tatich, R. Jeffrey Hopkins, Janis Nelson and Jon Hopkins; her cherished grandchildren: Krista (Josh) Gilmartin, Camaron (Deanna Hyde) Hillman, Matthew Hopkins, Samuel Tatich, Steven Tatich, and Michaela Nelson; great-grandsons Gavin Gilmartin and Colton Hillman. Laura was born on May 28, 1922 in Tioga, Pa, the only child of Leaman W. and Alice (Wheeler) McCann. She treasured the time spent with her family. She had many interests including: painting, photography, knitting, music, square dancing, traveling, and gardening. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Thursday, March 6th from 2-4 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley.
