L. Sheldon Davis

L. Sheldon Davis, 92, a life-long and well know farmer, passed away peacefully at his home on November 11, 2018, following a period of declining health. Born on April 21, 1926 in Berkshire, he was a son of Levi S. and Ruth M. (Steenbergh) Davis. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Beverly J. Davis (August 17, 2018) and his sister Marian Hanson. He is survived by his children, Fred O. (Peggy) Davis, Bonita Bonnie R. (Richard) Nelson, Charles E. (Vicki) Davis, Diane L. Davis and Ann M. Beebe (David Brink); 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; his brother Philip S. Davis, sister-in-law Jackie Jewett, many nieces, nephews and cousins.Sheldon took great pride is his chosen occupation as a Dairy Farmer. He and brother/partner Philip owned, operated and shipped milk from the Davis Farm for over 65 years. Sheldons vast knowledge of local history as well as of former local residents provided much of the information found in the books written about the History of Berkshire. In the past few years he so enjoyed driving around to many of the local farms and businesses to visit and reminisce with friends. Sheldon was a life member of the Berkshire Fire Department and served on the board of the Evergreen Cemetery Association.Sheldons family wishes to thank Hospice and all the caregivers who have so lovingly helped Sheldon. A special thank you to Darlene, Valerie, Penny, Bonnie, Kari, Ashley and Sandy.At Sheldons request, services will be private followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Berkshire. A cordial invitation is extended to friends to celebrate the lives of Sheldon and Beverly with their family at the Berkshire Fire Station, Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 4 -7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if desired, kindly direct memorials to the Berkshire Emergency Squad or Fire Department or Evergreen Cemetery Assoc. in loving memory of L.
