Kathleen "Kay" L. Card, 63, of Apalachin, NY, a loving and selfless woman known for her thoughtfulness and unwavering devotion to her family, passed away on June 19, 2023 following a short illness.
Born on Nov. 24, 1959, in Endicott, NY, Kay was a daughter of Earl Foster and the late Marylou (Sparks) Foster.
In addition to her father, Earl Foster, Kay is survived by her loving and devoted husband Peter Card and their cherished sons: Jason (Rikki) Card and Robert (Katie Piszczatowski) Card. She was an adoring grandmother to her grandsons: Alexander, Eli, Isaiah and Alistair and a cherished sister to William Foster and Jane (Wayne) Scouten. Kay's extended family includes: her mother-in-law, Virginia Card, sisters-in-law, Deborah (late husband Glenn) Haab and Valerie (Alan) Race, brothers-in-law, Wayne Card, Timothy (Cathy) Card, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her mother Marylou, Kay was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Colleen Foster, brother-in-law, William Card and father-in-law, Benjamin Card.
Kay was a woman who truly enjoyed life and always had a beautiful smile on her face. She was a yard sale enthusiast, often searching for hidden treasures and unique finds. Her love for children was evident in the crafts she made and games she played with them, always ensuring they felt special and loved.
Above all, Kay's selfless and caring nature defined her as a person. She always put the needs of others before her own, making sure everyone around her was comfortable and happy. This inherent kindness, coupled with her strong family values, made her a beacon of light in the lives of those she touched. As we remember Kay, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her legacy of kindness, selflessness, and thoughtfulness will continue to inspire us all.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Kay's Life at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St. Newark Valley, NY on Monday, June 26, at 1 PM. Kay will be laid to rest in So.
