Kathleen "Kleen" Webster

Kathleen "Kleen" Webster, 91, went home to be with her Savior on Sunday, March 8, 2009. Kleen is survived by her devoted children, Sherrie and Michael Simpson, Kathy and Kenneth Brown, James Webster; her cherished grandchildren, Kalyn, Eric, and Ryan Simpson, Kyle, Kari and Keli Brown, Jesse and Leslie Webster; and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Jayne Weaver; her niece, Susan (Frank) Weiss; her nephews, Tim (Robin) Weaver, Tom (Onalee) Weaver and their children; her brother-in-law, Dewey (Winifred) Webster and his son, Barry; as well as several cousins. Born on May 6, 1917 in Bradford, PA, she was a daughter of the late James Leonard and Myrtle (Moore) Radebaugh. She was predeceased by her husband, Marshall, in 1977; and her daughter-in-law, Sandra Webster. Kleen was a graduate of Mansfield State College and was a beloved High School Home Economics teacher at Newark Valley Central for many years until her retirement in 1979. She was a longtime and active member of the First Baptist Church, Newark Valley and planned and executed the interior dcor of the new church when it was completed in 1972. Well-known as an excellent cook and banquet organizer, she was also a creative seamstress, flower gardener, avid bowler and golfer, artist and according to her grandchildren, the very best away-from-home destination.A funeral service and celebration of Kleen's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, at the First Baptist Church, Newark Valley with longtime family friend, Pastor David Strope, officiating. Internment will be in the family plot at Willowdale Cemetery, Bradford, PA at a later date. The family will receive their friends Friday evening, March 13, from 6-8 p.m. at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley.
