June R. Smith

June R. Smith, 90, of Owego, passed away on May 16, 2013 following a period of declining health. June is survived by her son Daniel Smith and his wife Lorraine, daughters: Wilma Ace, and Diana Watkins and her husband Barry. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Danielle Smith (Kirk) Williams, Adam (Arlene) Ace, Eric (Rebecca) Watkins, Chad Watkins, and her great grandchildren: Abby and Hannah Williams, Andy Ace, Megan and Amy Weed, Julia and Allison Wright, a niece and a nephew. June was predeceased by her husband, Travette E. Smith in 1995, her granddaughter, Laurel Ace, son-in-law, George Ace and brother, Robert W. Loop.Born on June 19, 1922 in Johnsonburg, PA, she was the daughter of Roderick R. and Violet M. Loop. She was a faithful member of the Union Center United Methodist Church and was active with the Sr. Citizens of Tioga County and the Broome-Tioga Citizens Action. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and the seniors, playing cards, genealogy, BPOE, and many craft activities. June was very knowledgeable about many species of birds and flowers. She will be greatly missed.A Memorial Service and Celebration of Junes life will be held at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley at 4 oclock, on Wed. May 22, 2013. Rev. Nancy A.
