June L. Conway Of Richford, NYOn Saturday morning, March 6, 2010, our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, June Conway passed on to her new life at the age of 92. Her children Michael (Carol French) Conway, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Kennedy, Margaret Stoddard and grandchildren, Patrick (Mary Beth Danberry) Conway, Karen (Brian) Gordinier, Ryan (Joanne) Kennedy as well as her great grandchildren Samantha Predmore, Zachary Keener, Veronica and Keith Gordinier, Bailey Kennedy, her sisters and brothers Ann (Philip) Barden, Gerald (Jean) Lacey, Donald (Virginia) Lacey, Lawrence Lacey, sister-in-law, Mary Goodrich Lacey, nieces, nephews and cousins, including her special niece Joanne Carpenter, will all miss her greatly as well as her special friend Laura Gregrow who helped her in so many ways and was truly a blessing to her.A lifelong resident of Richford, she was born on June 10, 1917 in Richford a daughter of James S. and Bessie (Barnes) Lacey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas F. Conway, her siblings, Clarence Lacey, Wilbur Lacey, Dorla Zeh, Norma Grimes, grandson, Paul Conway, daughter-in-law, Mary Harbst Conway, sisters-in law, Zora Lacey and Jean Goodrich Lacey and brother-in-law, Vernon Grimes. For many years June served as deputy Town Clerk, on the Board of Elections and assisted at the Richford Historical Society. She also enjoyed tending her vegetable and flower gardens, was an excellent cook and baker and had a passion for butterflies. She opened her home and heart to many. Her gentle spirit as well as the wonderful aromas coming from her kitchen often attracted many of her nieces and nephews as well as neighborhood children. Junes family will receive their friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm. A celebration of her life will be held there at 11 am on Thursday. Pastor James Sweeney, Richford Congregational Church, will officiate.Burial will be in the spring at Highland Cemetery, Richford.
