Judith Thurston

Judith A. Thurston of RichfordJudith Judy Thurston, 72, passed away on July 23, 2014. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 53 years, Richard Thurston, and her sons, Mitchell S. and Tina, Mark R. and Michele, Morgan R. and Lori Thurston and her beloved grandchildren: Max, Sam, Bryan, Stacey, Alexi, Amber, Eric, Elaine, Ryan, Justin and Nate, and great grandchildren Daimeon, Brianna, Chloe, Cannon, Logan, McKenzie, Jayden, Sophia and Charis. Also surviving are her brothers, Robert Marshall III, and Timothy A. Marshall, several nieces and nephews.Judy was born in Cortland, NY on April 30, 1942 a daughter of the late Robert Jr. and Ruby (Brind) Marshall. She was a graduate of Newark Valley High School, a former employee of Cornell University and a 30 year employee of NYSEG. For the past 26 years, Judy has faithfully and conscientiously served as Richford Town Clerk. She was a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Later Day Saints, Ithaca Ward, a poet and a gardener. Most of all she was a loving wife mother, grand and great-grandmother who always felt she wanted to do more for each and every member of her family, in reality.she was simply THE BEST! Judys family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Sunday, July 27 from 3-5 PM.
