Goodbyes are not forever; goodbyes are not the end they simply mean well miss you until we meet again Joyce Atkinson, 89, of Newark Valley, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 28, 2020. Joyce was born on April 18, 1931 to Clifford and Iris (Carpenter) Crouch. She graduated from Johnson City High School in 1949 and worked for many years at IBM in Owego. Joyces greatest achievement, though, was her family. Joyce loved her family fiercely and devoted all of herself to them, making sure that their needs were met first before her own. She especially loved spending time with her many grandchildren. In her free time, Joyce also enjoyed traveling. Joyce leaves a large void behind with her passing, one that she would want filled, not with sadness and grief, but with laughter and love of the memories she made with each person that knew the warmth of her hugs and the feistiness of her character. Joyce will be greatly missed by her children: LuAnne (Atkinson) and her husband Peter Henry; Kim (Atkinson) and her husband Kenneth Crown; John Scott and his wife JoAnn Atkinson; her sister-in-law Lou Crouch; her precious grandchildren: Michael and Tracey Henry; Jennifer Henry, Stephanie (Crown) Lindgurst, Kenneth and Angie Crown, Melissa Crown, Kristi (Crown) and Kenneth Howe, Matthew Brown, Kristen Atkinson, and Joshua Atkinson; and her great grandchildren: Abigail, Mackenzie, Connor, Samantha, Eryck (Kaitlyn), Lucas, Jacob, Sydney (Evan), Jason, Taylor, Kaia (Zachary), Kaila, Dylan, Isabella, and Jayden. She will also be missed by her nephew Chris; cousins: Shirley and Elizabeth (Buffy) as well as numerous other family members and friends whom she adored! Joyce is predeceased by her parents; her sister Margaret (Peggy) Crouch, and brother Raymond Crouch.
