On December 16, 2021, Joseph F. Sack, 74, of Berkshire, NY was welcomed into the arms of God. He issurvived by his loving wife Dorothy; his children Joseph (Katie) Sack and Roseanne (Matt Seamans)Frederico; his grandson Mason Sack; Goddaughter Jennifer (Matt) Dubzak; sister-in-law Michelle Sack;and his great nieces and nephew. Joseph was embraced at the heavenly gates by his parents Joseph andCornelia (Dembicki) Sack, his beloved brother Francis Sack, and dear friends Martin G. and HelenMurphy. Joe was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA where he graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High Schooland Drexel University with a PHD in Metallurgy. It was during this time that Joe met and fell in love withtwo beautiful girls, his loving wife Dottie and cherished daughter Roseanne. Soon after Joe was honoredby welcoming his namesake, his son Joe, into the world and eventually relocated his family to upstateNY where he had taken a position at Union Forging. Joe continued his career at Trayer Products, where,after 25 years of service, he reluctantly retired. Joe had a constant need to stay busy and enjoyed tinkering around the house on various projects. Hismeticulous nature often became family affairs, especially around Christmas time, which showed throughas an elaborate Christmas display throughout his yard. Joe was an avid collector of all things andparticularly enjoyed expanding his vintage decanter collection. He very much enjoyed spending his timewith family, including his beloved grandson, with treasured memories of amusement parks, hunting,fishing, racing and vacationing. At the commencement of his retirement, he and Dottie continued theirlong standing tradition of visiting Cape May and spent an amazing, memory-filled summer enjoying allthat the Shore has to offer. Joe will be sorely missed, his laugh and smile forever etched in our hearts. Friends and family are invitedto a period of visitation at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, on Monday, December 20thfrom 11:30 - 1:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. John the Evangelist Church at 2 o'clock.Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
