John J. Gehm, 55, of Berkshire, passed away on May 9, 2014 following a brief illness. John was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Gehm. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Janson (Traci) Gehm and Janette (Brandon) Webster; his father and stepmother, James Gehm I and Dolores; his grandchildren, Rylan Gehm, Landon Webster, Sara and Patrick Gehm. Also surviving are his siblings, James (Lynn) Gehm II, Michael (Christina Steffen) Gehm, Novella Brown, Robin (James) Sparnroft, Carol (Clifford) Anderson, Jo (Don) Nemire, Judy (Fred) Auditor, Julie Freymuth; step-siblings, Louis Jones and Chyenne (James Fisher) Jones; several aunts and uncles, including Lanny and Marge Gehm; and nieces, nephews and cousins, including his special niece, Brandi; and the mother of his children, Linda Gehm.John was a graduate of Whitney Point High School. For 23 years, he was an employee of IBM, Endicott, then, with his Dad, owned Gehm construction for 10 years and for the past 2 years has been an employee of Endicott Precision. He enjoyed fixing cars, square dancing, collecting stamps and coins and spending time with his family, especially going fishing with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and wonderful friends.On Friday, May 16th, family and friends will gather at the MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley from 5-7 pm to share memories and celebrate Johns life. Those wishing to honor John with a charitable contribution are asked to kindly consider St. Judes Hospital, Make A Wish Foundation or the Childrens Miracle Network in his name.
