Genesee John HoffmierMay 14, 1942 June 4, 2013John has joined his son Johnny and many others in heaven.He is survived by his wife and best friend: Lil (Spoonhower) Hoffmier;his daughter Jody (Ted) Keener; his son Jacob Hoffmier and his wonderful grandchildren! John is also survived by many, many family and friends that meant the world to him.He served in the US Army during the Viet Nam War, stationed in Germany. For more than 40 years, he was a local contractor. He loved hunting with his buddies and family; was a great race car driver and in recent years he especially loved watching his nephews race. John and Jacob enjoyed restoring several old cars together. John was one of those people that you couldnt help but fall in love with and he will always live on in our hearts.Family and friends are invited to call at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, on Thursday, June 6th from 5-8 PM. A celebration of his life and funeral service will be held there on Friday at 10 am with Pastor Viki Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Berkshire where full Military Honors will be accorded.
