Daly, 60, passed peacefully at his home on Friday, May 15, 2009.John is survived by his children, John (Jack) Daly, III, Allyse Daly-Jones and wife Nanette Daly-Jones, Marc Daly and companion Kaitlin Eldredge, Michael Daly and Carolyn Daly. He will also be dearly missed by Debbie Zawtocki, his loving partner who enlightened and enriched his life for the past 12 years, his cherished grandchildren, Brennan Jones, Ravenkai Lunderman, Logan Eldredge, Evan Wantuch, Isabelle, Trevor and Marcene Salmi, his six loving sisters, Mary Ann Daly, Ellen Daly, Susan (Alan) Reiter, Catherine Daly and her dear friend, John Krause, Barbara (Alan) Homyk, Janet Daly, the mother of his children, Anne Birkel and his six nieces and nephews.Born on Aug. 4, 1948 in Herkimer, NY, John was a son of the late John F. Daly Sr. and Elisabeth (Craft) Daly. He was a graduate of Richfield Springs Central School (66), SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and Syracuse University. He served as General Manager of Plant Operations at Chesebro-Whitman Mfg. Co. (later Gold Medal Ladder) in Newark Valley until its closing and then as Vice President of Lynn Ladder in MA. He was presently employed as operations manager for REEB Millwork in Liverpool, NY. John was a very devoted father who was always supportive of his children (as well as many others) and also very proud of their achievements. He enjoyed hunting but most especially enjoyed the camaraderie at the cabin in the woods.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, Rock St., Newark Valley at 11 am on Wed. May 20th. Rev. John De Socio will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, NY. Johns family will receive their friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley on Tuesday from 4-7 PM.
