John F Schlee

September 21, 1962 — November 23, 2022

John F. Schlee, lovingly known as Johnny to his family and many friends, passed away on November 23, 2022 following an illness...an illness he bore without complaining and with great dignity. We all prayed for a miracle of cure and as we did, he became closer and closer to God. In the end he was blessed with the ultimate miracle as he was united with God. Johnny was born on September 21, 1962 the son of Frank and the late Agnes (Gleeson) Schlee. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Lisa (Saltisiak) Schlee and their children, whom he adored, David Patrick and Jennifer Michelle Schlee. He is also survived by his father Frank and stepmother Barbara; his brothers, Thomas (Kelly) and Shawn (Katie) Schlee and sister Joanna Schlee, her fiance Michael Gage, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. John also held a special place in his heart for Lisa's parents, John and Jean Saltisiak as well as her sister Lori and husband Gregory Polla and his long-time friends, Joe Stupak, Jim Neary and Jim Marmillion. Johnny was an avid sports fan and found great comfort with his dog 'Sadie' by his side. He just loved to spend time at a beach. Some of his favorite spots were The Outer Banks, Thousand Islands and Fenwick Island, Delaware. In 1990 he began a long and dedicated career as a customer service representative with Wegmans when it was established in Johnson City. He was also a faithful member of Most Holy Rosary Church in Maine, NY. where his family will receive friends on Saturday, December 3rd from 9:30 until 10:45 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 am. John's family would like to extend a very special THANKYOU to the wonderful Nurses and Staff at Wilson and Binghamton General Intensive Care Units.
