John Donald Bolson

John Donald Bolson, 57, of Newark Valley, devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and true family man, passed on unexpectedly Saturday night, July 16, 2011, as he was heading home from a weekend excursion with his family. Johns life began on April 20, 1954 when he was born to Anna (Karpensky) Bolson and the late Donald Bolson. In addition to his mother Anna, he is survived by his wife of 18 years, Trudy (Trumbower) Bolson, his children: John (Christina) Bolson, Jr., Victoria Schweckendieck, Zachary Schweckendieck, Kathleen Bolson and John Michael Bolson, his grandchildren: Nicholas, Noah, Titus, Ryan, Dakota, his brother George (Nancy) Bolson, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.John was a graduate of Newark Valley High School class of 72 where he established the ski club. John has led a diverse life. In his youth, he played keyboard, guitar and sang in his band: High Tide. He was an Eagle Scout, member of the Whitney Point police force and a former owner of Binghamton Pepsi Cola Dirt Modified Racing Team and The Big M store in Maine, NY. He loved tractors, farming, spontaneous rides with Trudy on his Harley and was a huge fan of his Moms cooking and baking. He had an inherent conversational ability, witty sense of humor, a penchant for helping others. Proclaiming he was not the lounging type, if anything needed to be done his motto would ring out: lets do it! His hands were his tools for building and repairing. For the past 20 years, John has been an employee of the VISTA Hospitality Industry and has been associated with many different hotels throughout the country including those in NYC, Ohio, PA, FL, Cortland, Binghamton and more recently the General Manager of the Quality Inn located in Vestal. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Johns Life will be held at the Holiday Inn Arena in Binghamton on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 4 PM. Immediately following, all are invited to a period of fellowship and refreshments.Memorials may be directed to "Friend's of Hospice/Traci's Hope", P.O.
