We gather to celebrate the life of Jodie Craft, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 2nd, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York.
Jodie was born on July 22nd, 1986, a beloved daughter of Michelle Craft and the late Ronnie Craft, and the cherished granddaughter of Harry Orton Sr. and the late Cecile (Joyce) Orton. She was a devoted sister to Victoria Truesdail and Amanda Craft, who loved her deeply. Above all, Jodie was a proud and devoted mother to her only daughter, Lyla LaBour, who was always by her mother’s side through every moment and challenge.
Jodie will be remembered for her tough love, her remarkable strength, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met. She had an infectious laugh and loved making people smile. Jodie enjoyed flowers, music, painting, and tie-dyeing anything she could get her hands on. Her greatest joy, though, was her beloved pup Charli Girl, whose excitement and happy spins always brightened her day.
Some of Jodie’s favorite memories included hearing her youngest sister Amanda greet her with, “Hi, my sister,” and laughing with her oldest sister Vickie until she peed her pants. She will also be deeply missed by her childhood best friend, Sarah Jerkes, whose bond with Jodie was unbreakable.
Jodie’s love will continue to live on in her nieces and nephews — Natalea Craft, her “first little pumpkin,” Daniel Truesdail IV, Austin Cotrill, and Adrian Cotrill — as well as in the hearts of all her friends and family.
Though Jodie is no longer with us in person, her spirit, laughter, and love will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew her best.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, where her family and friends will gather to honor and remember the incredible person Jodie was.
When you think of my mom it’s okay to be sad about what could have been, but she would want you to smile and laugh, listen to music, plant flowers in a garden, or just sit in a rocking chair watching the leaves fall. Find peace with her being gone and enjoy the memories you do have with her. -Lyla LaBour
