Joanne Hoskins, 61 Of Newark Valley passed away peacefully her home on May 20, 2008.Joanne is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Charles E. Hoskins, Jr., sons and daughter-in-law, Larry J. and Janelle Hoskins, FL, William G. Hoskins, N.C., her mother, Veronica Knapick, Vestal, her brothers, Richard and Melinda Knapick and their son Kyle, CA, Joseph and Judy Knapick, Jr., her sister, Rev. Veronica H. Knapick, Alaska, her grandchildren, Thomas and Catie Hoskins, sister-in-law, Beverly (John Belock) Sackett, and brother-in-law, Richard (Susan) Hoskins. Several nieces, nephews and many very special friends also survive including her 55 and Alive church group. Joanne was born on October 30, 1946 in Endicott a daughter Veronica Baka and the late Joseph Knapick, Sr. She was a devoted member of the Union Center Christian Church and a caring and loving woman who found joy in every aspect of life. In her earlier years, she and Charlie owned and operated a dairy farm on Tiona Rd. She loved the farm and could often be seen at farm auctions. Her hobbies included hunting, gardening, crafts, woodworking, photography and taking road trips.Joannes family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley on Monday, May 26, from 12 noon until 2 PM. A funeral service and celebration of her life will follow there at 2 pm with her Pastor Douglas Hill Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Union Center Christian Church, Boswell Hill Rd., Endicott, NY 13736 in loving memory of Joanne Hoskins.
