Jerry 'Toado' Rupert, Jr.

To live in the hearts of those we love is not to die. So, always say I Love You. Jerry L Rupert, Jr lived by these words when it came to the family he loved so dearly. At the age of 44, on the evening of July 2, 2018, Jerry left this world following a very brief illness. Jerry aka Toado, is survived by his wife Shirley Rupert, his children Brandon (Karissa) Rupert and Shelby (C.J.) Brink; his sisters: Phidelia Doda (Dean) Cornwell, Phyllis Punka (George Wahl) Rupert, grandchildren: Holly, Henry and soon to be newborn Brooke, nieces and nephew, Tonee, Emily and Andy, many aunts uncles and cousins. Also surviving are his special buddies: Glenn Barber, Marvin Turk, Chris Rappolt and his co-workers. With a twinkle in his eyes and a quirky, smirky smile, Jerry was always ready and very able to make anyone laugh. He graduated from Newark Valley High School, class of 1992; loved to hunt on the hill almost always getting his deer on the first day of the season; had a super big heart caring for everyone; was a former employee of Newark Valley School System and Hollenbecks Grocery; was very proud of his orchard, gardening and chicken barbequing skills and he really, really loved to buy and scratch off lottery tickets! Jerry and his family are most grateful to the Nursing Staff at Strong Memorial Hospital, area 6.3600 for the wonderful and supportive care extended to them. To honor Jerrys Life and to carry on his memory, a memorial scholarship fund will be established in the near future for a graduating Newark Valley High School senior. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember and celebrate Jerrys life Friday evening from 5-8 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley. A Memorial Service will be held there at 10 oclock Sat. morning followed by burial in the family plot in Center Lisle Cemetery.
