Jeremy Edwin Orton

September 27, 1979 — June 5, 2025

Endicott, NY

Jeremy Edwin Orton, 45, of Endicott, NY, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2025. Born on September 27, 1979, Jeremy was the beloved son of Harry Orton Jr. and Deborah (Olmstead) James. Jeremy's journey through life was marked by a fondness for simple joys and a love that extended to all who knew him.

Jeremy's world revolved around his children, Daphne Amaryllis Orton and Simon Edwin Orton, whom he adored. He instilled in them the values of kindness, humor, and curiosity. Jeremy was a devoted husband and father. His journey through life was marked by a fondness for simple joys and a love that extended to all that knew him.

In addition to his children, Jeremy is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Paisley (Rogers) Orton, his step-son Logan Hannum-Rogers, his parents and step-parents, Harry and Cindy Orton, and Deborah and Thomas James, his brother Tommy (Caylie) James, nephew Maverick James, his father-in-law Bruce Rogers and his paternal grandfather Harry Orton Sr.

Jeremy leaves behind a loving extended family, including his aunts and uncles: Linda Thayer, James and Elizabeth Olmstead, Candace Ely, Cheryl Stevens, Michelle Craft, Daryl (Jennifer) Orton, as well as his cousins Lee Jay Olmstead, April McGuiness, Amber Goble, and Amy Horsford, and his best friend Joe Urquhart.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Joyce Orton, his maternal grandparents Lee and Anna Olmstead, and his brother-in-law Aaron Rogers.

Professionally, Jeremy was employed at Lockheed Martin Corporation in Owego, NY, as a Quality Control Inspector, where he befriended everyone he met. Before that he worked at i3 electronics for well over a decade. His hard work, attention to detail, and dedication made him an outstanding employee and provider for his family.

Jeremy's interests were as vibrant as his green thumb. He had a knack for rescuing plants and was able to grow almost anything. He was especially fond of cacti and succulents. He could be found mushroom hunting after a rain, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for nature. Known for his love of food, he derived enormous pleasure in trying new, experimental, and occasionally spicy recipes. Jeremy’s generous spirit was shown in the unique and delicious dishes that he shared with his family, friends, and neighbors.

His sense of humor was infectious and his pleasure in life far reaching. When not in the kitchen, or looking after Simon and Daphne, he gathered his friends and loved ones for games of every kind. Card games, board games, video games, and especially role-playing games, Jeremy connected the people he loved together and charmed those who had the pleasure of his company. In every aspect of his life, he was the embodiment of joy, leaving a legacy of laughter and joviality.
