Jeanne R. Paisley

January 27, 1925 — December 8, 2024

Jeanne R. Paisley, 99, of Richford, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024. Born on January 27, 1925, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Monat) Roset; Jeanne's life was a tapestry of academic excellence, dedicated service, and unwavering commitment to her family and those she loved.

Jeanne was the cherished wife of the late Lawrence Avery Paisley, with whom she shared a life of joy and companionship until his passing in 1968. Her family was at the core of her existence, and she embraced every moment with them, creating a legacy of love and nurturing that will continue to thrive in their hearts. She is survived by her daughter Susan J. Mueller, and her sons Joseph Paisley and Jonathan Paisley. She will be greatly missed by her grandsons Yarrow Paisley and Adam Paisley.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanne was reunited with her sister Mona and her grandson Logan.

An alumna of Albany State College for Teachers, Jeanne graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master's Degree, a testament to her passion for education and her exceptional intellect. Her academic achievements were only the beginning of a career marked by dedication and impact. Jeanne went on to shape young minds as a High School Teacher at Binghamton Central High School, where her passion for education and her students was evident in every lesson she taught.

Beyond the classroom, Jeanne's spirit of service extended into various roles within her community. She served on the Richford Planning Board, applying her keen insight and foresight to the development of the area she loved. As the Human Services Chair for Tioga County, she worked tirelessly to ensure the well-being of her fellow citizens, always prioritizing the needs of the most vulnerable.

Her commitment to health and community welfare was further exemplified through her involvement with the Northern Tioga Health Association Advisory Committee. Here, Jeanne contributed her knowledge and compassion, striving to improve healthcare services for all. A proud member of the Richford Historical Society, she also dedicated herself to preserving the rich tapestry of local history for future generations to cherish.

In Jeanne’s spare time she enjoyed the simple pleasures of reading, writing, gardening, and traveling.

Jeanne's life was one of purpose and joy, and her legacy is one of profound influence and heartfelt connections. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, yet her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Abiding her wishes, there will be no services. Memories and condolences can be shared in her online guestbook at www.macphersonfh.com. The family is under the caring guidance of MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley.
