James M. Barrett

James M. Barrett, 72, of Richford passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018. James is survived by his wife Judith (Allyn) Barrett; sons Shawn (Kim) Barrett and Jay Barrett; grandchild Donovan; brother Jerry (Marge) Barrett and their children Leigh (Thomas) Kemp, Dr. David (Silka) Barrett, Dr. Michael (Debbie) Barrett, John (Edith) Barrett, Connie Stoddard, and Rich Westfall; as well as his Aunt Betty, and many cousins. Sister-in-law Phyllis (Robert) Dodzweit; nieces Natalie Sasina and Heidi Dodzweit; nephew Jason Dodzweit. James was predeceased by his parents Harry and Evelyn Barrett and his eldest son Steven. Jim worked for IBM, Owego for 25 years and drove tour buses for Swarthout and Ferris out of Ithaca. He also served as Town Justice of Richford for nine years, and was a Vietnam Navy Veteran. A graveside service be held in the spring at St. Patricks Cemetery in Owego where James will be laid to rest. MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, NY is assisting the family with arrangements.
