James E. Mills

James E. Mills Sr, 71 of Newark Valley and formerly of Skagit Valley Area and Dayton, WA, passed away on Oct.5, 2016 following an illness. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Lois (Swanson) Mills, his children, James E. (Kari) Mills, Jr, Lenny C. (Diane) Christenson, Lorri M (Mark Robison) Reavis, Leah N (Zach) Cole. Jim was the first born in a family of 22 children. Five of his siblings predeceased him and 16 remain in his loving family also including many grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.Jim was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Navy. He was an entrepreneur, accomplished many goals, relished life living it to its fullest, and prized his Harley but he always felt his greatest when he was with his family whom he loved and treasured. Jim will be greatly missed by all.Family and friends will gather at the MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 11-12. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 pm followed by Military Honors.A Celebration of his life will continue at the Berkshire Fire Station and all are invited.
