James David Howland, 83, of Berkshire, NY, passed away, Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at his home surrounded by close family.Dave was born in Berkshire, NY to James and Nancy Howland. He is a graduate of Newark Valley High School in 1957 and Paul Smiths College with an A.A.S. In Forestry in 1960. Dave followed in his parents shoes and became a partner and then owner of Howlands Honey. He grew and expanded the small business with his wife and son to be well known. Howlands Honey was known for its quality products of honey, beeswax, and bees. He is predeceased by his parents. Dave is survived by his wife, Joan Ann, daughter Cynthia (GaRoy) Dickinson and his son Michael Howland. He is also survived by his beloved grandson Tyler Howland as well as his beloved granddaughter Brianna Dickinson with whom he got into many escapades and would do anything for. Dave also loved his many cousins especially Marshall Loos who was a constant companion and co-conspirator as well as a great help during his illness. The family would like to thank Ashley Bennett and Angels Helping Hands for assisting Dave during his illnesses. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 1pm at the First Congregational Church of Berkshire.
