Helen Marie Scales

Helen M. Scales, 89, was united in heaven with her beloved husband Harry Scales early Wednesday morning, Dec. 10, 2014. Helen is survived by her loving children and their spouses: George and Lori Scales, James and Elizabeth Scales, Paula and Alan Fisher, Jeanne and David Nash, her sister in law, Julia Koroluck, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews including her special nephew and his wife, Larry and Connie Koroluck.A life-long resident of Berkshire, Helen was born on April 19, 1925 a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Sperum) Koroluck. She was also predeceased by her brothers, George and Andrew Koroluck and sister and brother-in-law, Olga and John Piech. She attended Berkshire and Newark Valley Schools and very much enjoyed working at GE in Johnson City for more than 20 years. She often remarked that this is where she met some of her most cherished friends. Helen was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and cook. She especially adored her grandchildren and was anxiously looking forward to the coming birth of 2 more great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. A Celebration of Helens Life and Memorial Service will be held at 10 am on Dec. 26, 2014 at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley.
