Helen L. Saxby, 91, was united with her Lord and Savior on Sept. 19, 2015.Helen is survived by her twin brother, Harold (Elin) Saxby, her nephews, Harolds sons: David, Daniel and Dennis Saxby as well as many cousins and dear friends.Born on May 22, 1924 in Endicott, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Ruth H. (Hall) Saxby. She was a graduate of Newark Valley High School and Wilson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and furthered her education in Public Health Nursing and Administration at Syracuse University, Columbia University and the University of Michigan leading to several rewarding administrative positions in US Public Health Services in W. VA, PA and NY. She retired from the VA Medical Care System.Helen was a faithful, devoted, long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Newark Valley where she participated in many ministries with the ACLF (All Church Ladies Fellowship). She will long be remembered for her humble and kind demeanor but most of all for her beautiful musical presence at the organher special ministry that she was able to fulfill, until just a few weeks ago.There will be a time of sharing on Thursday, Sept. 24th from 10-11 am at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley. A Funeral Service and Celebration of Helens Life will follow there at 11 am with her pastor, Michael Spiegel and former pastor and dear friend Craig Golden officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Hope Cemetery. For those who wish to remember Helen L.
