Hazel T. Davis Warner, 84, formerly of Newark Valley, passed away peacefully on Dec. 24, 2012.Hazel is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Lawrence Warner, her children and their spouses: Larry J. Davis, William F. and Dianna Davis, David H. and Mary Davis, Jenny and Kenneth Owen, Susan and Clarence Cowell; her step-children and their spouses: Robert D. and Donna Warner,William H. and Vicki Warner, Edward D. and Laurie Warner, Eva and John OConnor; her sisters Joan Quinney, Jean (Robert) Hardwick, Ann Campbell, Dorothy (Tom) Leonard, eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Hazel was devoted to her entire family.Born on April 27, 1928 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Margaret Taylor. She was a graduate of Deposit High School and Ridley-Lowell Business School. For many years, she was employed as a legal secretary in the Walton and Binghamton area. Hazel was married to Kenneth W. Davis for 37 years prior to his passing. She was a long-time and devoted member of the Newark Valley United Methodist Church where she served as President of the UMW, on the Worship Committee and on the Soup and Salad Dinner committee.She enjoyed making crafts and quilts which she lovingly gave to all of her family.Hazel was also instrumental in organizing many reunions for Deposit High School Class of 1946.A Memorial Service for Hazel will be held at 11 am on Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Newark Valley with her pastor, Rev. Nancy J. Adams, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Walton Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service (10-11 am).In lieu of flowers, kindly consider the Memorial Fund of the First United Methodist Church, 70 So.
