Hazel E. Nevel

Hazel E. Nevel, 80,of Richford and formerly of Whitney Point, went to heaven on June 27, 2014.She was born in Hunlock Creek, PA a daughter of the late, Amos and Ethel Redmond.Hazel is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Richard W. Nevel; her cherished children and their spouses: Richard Ricky and Brenda Nevel, Ronald and Mary Nevel, Sharon and David Brame, Debra and Ronald Talcott, JoAnn and Mike Pierce, Lori and Dave DeSanto; her siblings Stanley (Dorothy) Redmond, Harold (Barbara) Redmond, Joan Whitesel and Alma Saddlemire; her adored grandchildren: Tammy (Ken) Bean, Amie (Jon) Wales, Renee` (Gabe) Gurley, Tracy Elmore (Chris), Michael (Michelle) Pierce, Stephanie (Keith) Ives, Douglas Pogorzelski, Alyssa, Katie, Jenna and Madison DeSanto, Samantha Brown, 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Hazels most prized accomplishment was raising her 6 children. She cherished every minute spent with her family and was always there to lend a hand, babysit, listen, be a taxi driver, play Elvis really loud and dance. She so enjoyed life and always had a smile on her face! Her laugh would melt your heart.Family and friends will share memories and celebrate Hazels life at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Wednesday from 1-3 pm.
