Harry R Scales

Harry R. Scales, 89, of Berkshire, passed away peacefully at his home early Friday morning, Dec. 21, 2012. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Helen (Koroluck) Scales and his devoted children and their spouses: James (Elizabeth) Scales, George (Lori) Scales, Paula (Alan) Fisher, Jeanne (David) Nash; 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.Born in Johnson City, NY on August 7, 1923, he was the son of George and Ruby Scales. Harry was a long-time and devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Newark Valley. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in the South Pacific during WW II and retired from IBM, Endicott following 28 years of service. He was an avid golfer and bowler and a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa. He will be greatly missed.Family and friends may call at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley from 10-11 am on Wednesday, Dec. 26. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 am with Deacon Warren Rutan officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Owego, where Military Honors will be accorded.
