Harry 'Lefty' L. Swarts

Harry L. Swarts, 85, of Newark Valley, affectionately known as 'Lefty', passed away on Oct. 19, 2017, surrounded in the love of his family. Lefty is survived by his devoted children: Laura L. (Roger) Culver, Yvonne (John) Boulanger, Danielle (Craig) Gardner and Jeff Swarts; his siblings Donald, Neil and Rita; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His parents Paul and Lillian Swarts, his beloved sweet wife, Juanita and his grandson Michael predeceased him. Lefty was a long-time employee of the former Endicott Lumber and Box Co. A loving and devoted father, he truly relished the time spent with his family as they camped, fished, hunted, bowled or played horse shoes together. His daughters will always cherish the memory of Dad teaching them to dance and watching him dance with his Sweet.Family and friends will gather at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley to share stories and memories from 1 until 2:45 on Saturday, October 28th and at 3 PM Celebrate His Life with his good friend, Pastor Norman Culver officiating. Lefty loved Bluegrass Music and casual attire.
