Harold A. Hap Rockwell, 89, of Newark Valley passed away on Nov. 4, 2018 following a period of declining health. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jacqueline (Peterson) Rockwell and his son Michael Rockwell; son-in-law: Charles Cox; 6 grandchildren: Allen, Casey, Kristi, Joshua, Sean, Sullivan, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Hap was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Mary Rockwell, 4 siblings and his daughter, Jacqueline Cox. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 150 in Kingston where he and his family resided prior to moving to Newark Valley 46 years ago. He was employed as a truck driver in Kingston and was also a former employee of Tioga Transport. Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 3-5 pm on Thursday at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St, Newark Valley. A Funeral Service will be held there on Friday at 3 pm. Military Honors will be accorded. Burial will be in West Newark Cemetery on Saturday at 10 am. Memories may be shared in Haps guestbook at macphersonfh.com
