Hanna Y. Yaman, 83, of Owego, passed into the Arms of Her Lord and Savior Jesus on April 12, 2015. She is now reunited with her husband of 52 years Joseph Yaman. Born on July 15, 1931 in Ain-Dara, Lebanon she was a daughter of the late Yazbeck and Nazhah (Abo-Malhab) Yammine. On April 28, 1951 Hanna and Joseph were married in Lebanon and then established their home on a farm in Owego. Hanna led her family by her example. She professed a strong faith in Jesus along with the power of prayer; worked outside her home at Mary Lous Dress Shop in Owego and Endicott-Johnson; maintained beautiful flower and vegetable gardens; knitted, crocheted, and sewed for her family and friends all the while keeping everyone well-nourished with her fabulous meals. She was very proud to become an American Citizen.Her Legacy of Love lives on in her family: sons, Joseph (Priscilla) Yaman, John (Maryann) Yaman; daughters, Dorothy (Richard) Barto, Mary (Randolph) Miller; her cherished and adored grandchildren: Jocelyn (Jason) Smith, Erica (Kyle) Miesfeldt, Joseph R. Yaman, Seth (Tory) Yaman, Tracie (Brad) Wheeler, Dr. Michael (Christon) Rouhana, Michele (Richard) Barber, Randy and Nicholas Miller; Great grandchildren:; Casandra, Paityn, Landyn, Priscilla Smith; Karson, Aiva, Sylvia Miesfeldt; Skyryn Yaman, Elijah, Jeremiah, Sarah, Zachariah Wheeler, Makhail Rouhana, Grant, Lily Hanna and Anderson Barber. Also surviving are her brother, Elias Yammine and sisters Bahia Kazan, Zahia (Butrous) Yammine, Wadad, Samira, and Dorothy, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings: Yousef, Nassif and Alice.Hannas family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Friday evening, April 17, from 6-8 pm. A Celebration of Her Life will be held there on Saturday at 11 am with her son-in-law, Rev. Richard Barto and Rev. Loretta Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Tioga Cemetery, Owego.
