Geraldine Gordon Harmon

Geraldine E. (Gordon) Harmon, 81, formerly of Newark Valley and Maine, NY passed away on Aug. 13, 2012 at Ideal Nursing Center in Endicott, where she has resided for the past several years.She is survived by her daughters: Leslie Harmon, Laura (David) Stoots, Margaret (Wes) Holmes and Kathleen (Gilbert) Emens; her long-time and loving companion Robert (Pete) Fechter, her brothers, William Gordon and John (Boots) Gordon, her sister, Florence Wolsiefer , 13 grandchildren, a great grandson, many nieces and nephews.Gerry was born on Jan. 7, 1931 in Queens, NY a daughter of the late William M. and Edna E. (Spissell) Gordon. She was a long-time member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Newark Valley, a graduate of TC3, a former member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 13901, Maine, NY and a former Red Cross Volunteer. She enjoyed knitting, operatic music, singing in her church choir and playing the organ.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church in Newark Valley on Friday, Aug. 17th at 1 PM with Rev. William A. Moorby, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley. Her family will receive friends Thursday evening, Aug 16th, from 7-9 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home,5 Whig St., Newark Valley.
