George A. Hill. 65, of Owego, took his final ride from his home on Dec. 28, 2015 following an illness. George is survived by his loving wife, Dorene (Snapp) Hill and his children: Tony Hill, Timothy (Bethany) Hill, Amanda (George) Schumacher, Russell (Jessica) Reichert. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Allee, Talan, Vance, Clayton, Anthony and Brantlee; brother, Lee F. (Ellen) Hill, Dorenes mother, Nellie Snapp, brother, Glenn (Mary) Snapp and sister, Susan (Mike) DuBrava; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.George was born on June 10, 1950 a son of Francis and Ellen Hill. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Buff Buffington. He served in the US Army during Vietnam and was a retired Insurance Claims Adjuster. George had a quick wit and could always make you smile and laugh. He was a wonderful, caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed time with his family and friends whether it was spent camping, traveling, riding his motorbike or snowmobile George always enjoyed himself. He was enthusiastic about cooking and food, whether it was searching for new recipes to try or sharing a meal out with family and friendshe was happily fulfilled. George loved to drive and would not hesitate to hop in the car and drive hours just for lunch. He showed his loved ones such compassion, especially his wife whom he was always understanding and supportive of. George enjoyed his kids and grandkids tremendously, sharing his passion for toys and having fun. We will never forget the man who gave so much to remembernothing will be the same without him.
