Frieda Marlene Knowlton Struble

Frieda Marlene Knowlton Struble, 82, of Whitney Point, NY passed into the loving arms of her Savior at 11:45PM on August 10th, 2021. She was predeceased by her brothers, William (baby) and John, sisters Anna, Barbara, and Rosemarie, mother, Elsbeth, and father, Lyle. She is survived by her husband, of 61 years, William D Struble, children, William II (Debbie) , Michael (Nancy), John, and Mary (Erik), grandchildren Emily, Erin (Matt), Alicia, Derick (Sierra), William III, Martin, and Brett, and great-grandchildren Eliana, James, Addison, Emma, and Juliette. She is also survived by her brothers Robert (Pauline) and Thomas (Pat), sister Carole, and many nieces and nephews. Frieda graduated from Elmira Free Academy in 1957 and trained as a nurse at Elmira Arnot-Ogden School of Nursing, becoming an LPN in 1960. She worked in a doctor's office in Rome, NY, two hospitals in Virginia, as well as at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City. She worked for Family and Children's Services doing home health work and teaching families how to budget, select foods, and care for their children before finishing her career at Ideal Senior Living Center. Frieda always had a big smile and always saw the best in everyone. With all the moves her family made, she never complained. She enjoyed planting flowers and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her church family. She is greatly missed. Calling hours will be held Friday, August 13th from 10 AM to Noon at Nanticoke Baptist Church, with service to follow. Burial will take place in Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
