Frederick A Kiefer

Frederick A. Kiefer, 83, of Newark Valley, affectionately known as Fred or Fritz by his family and friends, went to be with our Lord on Friday, Dec. 2, 2022. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn (Kuenzli) Kiefer, their children: Laura (Frank) Tozer, Cindy Kiefer and Michael Kiefer; his sister Jeanette Barton (the late Don Barton); 5 grandchildren: Timothy (Aimee Meara) Thomas Jr, Renee (Michael) Hartwell, Kristy (David Grannis) Tozer, Michelle Kiefer, Melinda Kiefer, 12 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Fred was predeceased by his parents Claude and Martha Kiefer and great grandson Jonathan Tozer. He was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps, and an expert mechanic formerly employed at Matthews Chevrolet. Freds family meant the world to him. His smile could light up a room and he had a heart of gold. He is our hero and memories of him will be forever in our hearts. Under the guidance of MacPherson Funeral Home, family graveside services will be held at Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley with Military Honors accorded.
