Fred Rhodes

Fred Rhodes, 89, passed away suddenly on January 19, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cheryl (Inderlied) Rhodes; his children, Jamie (Charlotte Klingle) Rhodes, Dennis (Donna) Rhodes, Fern (Robert) Tingley, Deloris Stiles; sisters, Charlotte, Ruth, Joyce and Mildred; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Fred was born on March 27, 1919 in Newark Valley, one of 10 children born to the late John and Anna (Lane) Rhodes. He was predeceased by his siblings, George, Art, Norm, Bill and Ellen; and his son, Fred D. "Sonny" Rhodes. He was a retired employee of Union Forging in Endicott, enjoyed hunting and raised quarter horses.His family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. Services will be at the convenience of the family.
