Franklin R. Baker, Jr, "Mudwomp" of Richford, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 20th, 2021, surrounded by his family. Born to Carolyn (Nelson) and Franklin Baker Sr, on October 13th, 1942, Frank retired from the Tioga County Highway after 27 years of service. Frank had many hobbies throughout the years including racing stock cars, volunteering with Richford Fire Dept in his younger years, building and painting lawn ornaments, windmills, and stuffed animals. He loved attending Blue Grass Festivals and shared his love of music with this band "Country Gold". Frank enjoyed collecting and restoring Farmall tractors. "Affectionately known as "The Mayor of Richford", he enjoyed spending time with his buddies at CB Coffee Clubs, local diners, and on his own front porch, eating ice cream and sharing jokes. Frank was loved by many, for his antics, as well as his big heart. Frank is predeceased by his parents, brothers Andy and Larry Baker, his loving wife, Elaine (Cronk) Baker of 37 years, daughter Jane Schumacher, grandson Brandon Gorsline, and sons-in-law John Keener Jr. and Ken Henry Sr. He is survived by daughters, Lori (George) Scales, Barb Keener, Angie Henry, Lilly Baker, and beloved granddaughter, Diane (Robert) Kelley; grandchildren: Tracy, Carrie, Bobby, Jesse, and Jack Keener, Charlie Thayer, Joseph Gorsline, Jason, Tommy, and Kristy Scales, Amy Vanderpoel, Zach Armstrong, Ryan, and Tom McGrath; great-grandchildren: Mason, Sarah, Hayley, Alyssa, Ryder, Lee, Christopher, Elaina, Jade, Dylan, and Gabriel; and siblings: Janet, Betty, Ronnie, Roy, Cherie, Pam, Brownie, Anna, Frank, Dick, and Shirley; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to a period of visitation at the MacPherson Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 27th from 6-8 pm. A celebration of his life will be held the following day, Wednesday, April 28th at 1 pm at the funeral home with the burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
