Frank Porupski, 89, of Owego, passed away on November 24, 2010 at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford where he has resided for the past several years. Frank is survived by his children, Robert, Thomas, Raymond (Lynne), Timothy, Susan (Michael) Jubinsky, Patricia Porupski and her husband Stan Bish, Katherine Vincent, and James Porupski. Also surviving are his five grandchildren, Tracy (John) Evans, Justin Porupski, Alicia Vincent, Christopher Jubinsky, Matthew Jubinsky; his sisters, Helen Emond and Mary Clauer; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Stella (Powichrowska) Porupski; his sisters, Jenny and Theresa; and brothers, Andrew, Michael (Bill), John, and Jacob. Frank was born in Hellertown, PA on December 1, 1920, a son of the late Michael and Mary (Fekete) Porupski. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Force serving from 1942-1945. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Newark Valley and was a retired employee of IBM, Owego. He was an avid Polka dancer and a member of Bill Flynn's Polka Fan Club and the Polka Paraders. He coached Little League and Pee Wee Football. Thank you to Mary Jane and the staff at Pine Cottage for the wonderful care provided to Frank during his stay. You are the best. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 30th, at St. John the Evangelist Church, Newark Valley with Rev. William A. Moorby officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery with full Military Honors accorded. His family will receive friends Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley.
