Frances L. Bunts, 95, of Maine, NY, went to her heavenly home on August 10, 2013 and is now in the presence of her precious Lord and Savior.Frances, a Godly, loving mother, is survived by her children and their spouses:Rev. Frederick and Dawn Bunts, NC, Leonard and Christine Bunts, NM, Ruth Evelyn and Larry Poage, AK, Elwyn and Rosemary Bunts, NC, Carol and Jim Coles, OK, Doris and Rev. David Totman, PA, Bette and Don Swaringen, NC, Paul and Priscilla Bunts, FL, Anita and Bill Perry, NY, Kathryn and Bill Davey, Maine, NY, Priscilla and Rev. Wayne Manago, IN.Also surviving are her 36 cherished grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, 8 great, great grandchildren, her brother-in-law, Larry and May Bunts, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Norman and F. Nell (Curtis) Gates, brother, Curtis, husband of 49 years, Harold Bunts and infant June Rose Bunts.Frances was a lifelong, devoted member of First Baptist Church of Maine where she was 4th grade Sunday School for may years; elected to serve The Missionary Committee of the Church for more than 50 years; and was a member and past president of the Ladies Missionary Society. She was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School, class of 1935. As the children were growing, Frances maintained a bountiful garden, cultivated by her boys. Harvest was followed by days of canning and preserving with her girls. She was an artisan with the crochet needle and blessed all of her family with beautiful afghans.Her family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-7 pm at the First Baptist Church of Maine. A Funeral Service and Celebration of Her Life will be held there on Friday at 11 am. Pastor Ben Winn and Pastor Paul Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in the Maine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may kindly be directed to the First Baptist Church of Maine for the Frances Bunts Scholarship Fund established for young people who need assistance in attending camp at BaYouCa.
