Frances Gould Palmer

Frances H. Palmer, 87, of Newark Valley, passed away on June 12, 2013.Fran was predeceased by her husband Ernest, her brothers, Gurdon Gould, James Gould and John Overacker. She is survived by her loving family: son Ernest, Jr., and his wife Karen; grandchildren, Robb Lecuyer, Colette (Brad) Volkmer; five great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Lois Overacker, who has provided much loving care, nieces, nephews and adopted daughter, Cheryl Pei.Despite many years of living with disabling rheumatoid arthritis, Fran enjoyed life, maintained a quirky sense of humor and relished her forever friendships with Connie and Glenn Yingling and Dorothy Knickerbocker. Fran and her family wish to express their appreciation to some very special folks: Phyllis Newman, Gladys Stoughton, Helen Myott, June Spangenburg and Daisy Webber. All these ladies were dear to Fran and provided many acts of kindness and support. In addition, we are grateful to all those who made Frans final days more comfortable: Janet H., Janet B., Olive, Holly, Tina, Sally and Bern. The family also thanks Amy Lord, FNP for her compassion and care, Dr. Sanzone and the good folks at Lourdes Hospice. In keeping with Frans wishes, private family services will be held at their convenience at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley and burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
