Fern D. Tingley

Fern D. Tingley, 69 of Newark Valley, passed away at her home on Dec. 10, 2013 following a long illness.Fern is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert G. Tingley; her children: Tim (Lorraine) Tingley, Troy (Ruth) Tingley, Jody (Joe) Scott, Raechell (Frank Gordon) Olivieri; siblings: Dennis (Donna) Rhodes, Jamie Rhodes, and Dee Stiles; grandchildren: Luke, Jocelyn and Vaughan Tingley, Kayleigh Dalius, Karleigh Hunt, Megan, Monica and Bobbie Olivieri; great grandson Malik Tingley, several nieces, nephews and cousins.She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Virginia Rhodes and brother Sonny Rhodes.Fern had attended Schools in Newark Valley and Endicott and was a former office employee at Vestal Nursing Home. She was a very talented artist working in oils and acrylics and with wood crafts many of which were purchased by the Disney Company. Fern loved her family and friends. Many hours were spent over multiple pots of coffee visiting at her kitchen table.Her family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Friday from 5-7 pm and will also celebrate her life at a dish to pass gathering at Paradise Caf, Rt. 38, on Saturday, from 2-5 pm.
