Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear.Ethel Schreck Rogers, 86, of Litchfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Bradford County Manor. Ethel was born on October 10, 1926, in South Waverly, Pa a daughter of the late William and Minnie Megaffee Schreck. She was a graduate of Sayre High School class of 1944. On April 2, 1949, she married Donald H. Rogers and together they celebrated 62 years of marriage until his passing on April 9, 2011. Ethel was an employee of Sayre Lingerie and assisted in the cafeteria at the Litchfield Elementary School. She was a devoted member of the Litchfield United Methodist Church where she served as Financial Secretary. Many will remember Ethel for her love of baking and cooking. She enjoyed sewing, refinishing furniture, bowling, singing and playing the piano. Ethel is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Scott and Pat Rogers of Troy, Pa; Brett and Alice Rogers of Sayre, Pa; Seth and Bonnie Rogers of Wellsboro, Pa; daughter Sandra Kay Call of Sayre, Pa; his grandchildren: Gretchen (Matthew) Geer, Zachary Rogers, Peggy Settel (Missy Simpson) Barbara Settel; Monica (Ben) Swoyer; Jessica (Tom) Doyle, Nathan (Bre) Call, Raquel Rogers, Renee Rogers, Regan Rogers, Raina Rogers, Raisa Rogers; great grandchildren: Elizabeth Geer, Evan Geer, Juan Barbosa and Jadon Swoyer. A sister Beatrice Lawler of Waverly; A sisters-in-law Doris Dolinich and Martha Schreck. Several nieces, nephews, cousins also survive. Ethel was predeceased by her parents, her husband Donald; brothers William, Charles, Harry and Paul Skip and sisters: Sr. Alphonse Marie, Ruth and Teresa. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Friday, March 1st from 1 to 3 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will follow at 3 pm with Pastor Jon Austin, officiating. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Nichols Cemetery.
