Erma 'Dottie' Nett

Erma Nett, a long time resident of Newark Valley, was born in Canton PA on September 1, 1923 to Marshall and Laura Williams Bellows. Following 94 years 10 months and three days of living a beautiful life, she passed away peacefully on July 4, 2018. Erma is survived by her son Edward M. (Mary) Hammond, and daughters: Nola Jeanne (Lloyd) Baird, Judy Lynne (Bob) Stoddart, and Susan Marie Nett. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Shina (Mike) Harris, Erica Hanson, Renee Vina, Julie Vina, Daniel (Gail) Vina, Becky Jo (Andy) Krise, Laura (Brent) Parks, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ed Nett, daughter Linda Vina, son A. Richard (Val) Hammond and her three siblings.Though tiny in stature, Erma was a potent womana practical-minded no-nonsense kind of gal dedicated to her husband, her children and friends. She worked like a horse on the farm during the day, sang like a bird in the clubs and resorts at night, yodeled like the down home country woman she was and loved us all like crazy! You were always a true lady Mom and now that you have joined Dad, it is the end of an eraone that we will all have trouble letting go of. But the angels came for you at just the right time and we know we were blessed to call you our own for as long as we did.Family services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
