Ella Rebecca "Becky" Brink Brown, 72, of Lucama, NC, died March 18, 2012 at home after having lived victoriously two and one-half years with cancer. She passed from life to everlasting life in the presence of Jesus Christ, her LORD and Savior. Becky was born March 2, 1940 in West Newark, New York, the fifth child of the late Harry and Julia Palmer Brink. A wife, mother, grandmother and nurse, she lived to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. In addition to her parents, her stepmother Ethel Brink, her brother Harold Brink, her brother and his wife Carl and Dolores Brink, her brother-in-law Sigmund Smith and a grandson Nathan Brown preceded Becky in death.She leaves behind - cherishing her memory - Robert, her husband of almost 49 years, and three sons, their wives, and their children: Brian and Trinh Brown and Douglas, Leah and Steven of Oak Harbor WA; Kurt and Brenda Brown and Micah, Kendra, Lydia, Tessa, Adam and Natalie of Cortland NY; Eric and Heather Brown and Zachary, Ian, Duncan, Cameron and Schuyler of Christiansburg VA. Becky is also survived by her brother and his wife Richard and Patricia Brink of Barton NY, her sister Priscilla Smith of New Cumberland PA, her sister-in-law Doris Brink of Ithaca NY, her sister-in-law and her husband Frances Elizabeth and Joseph Speece of Muncie IN, numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews from coast to coast, and many dear friends.Becky's great loves were for her LORD, her family, reading the Bible, proclaiming pro-life values, playing the piano, singing, and being outdoors. She and her husband lived in New York, Delaware, Indiana, New York again, Pennsylvania, and finally North Carolina. Becky had worked at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester NY, as a public health nurse in Rensselaer County NY, as a school nurse at Faith Heritage School in Syracuse NY and as a Member of the Board of Elections in Wilson County, NC. Her volunteer activities focused on her churches, pro-life crisis pregnancy centers, sidewalk counseling and picketing abortion providers.A Celebration of Beckys life will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, March 24th at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St, Newark Valley. Her family will receive friends there from 11 am until the time of the service.
