Edward Kasper, 84, of Newark Valley, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on June 19, 2011.Ed is survived by his wife, Lorabelle (Hutcheson) Kasper, his loving children: Sally Fiedler, Philip (Suzanne) Kasper, Dodie (Philip) Willson, Kevin Kasper and companion Bobbi Jo Campbell; his sister Sophie Rinker; his 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A life-long resident of Newark Valley, Ed was born on Feb. 25, 1927 a son of the late Charles and Mary (Ziemba) Kasper. His siblings, Helen Piech, Stella Piech, Tony, and Charles predeceased him. Ed served in the US Navy during WW II and was a retired employee of the Maine-Endwell School District. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Maine, was devoted to his family and had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Maine on Saturday, June 25th from 10 until 11:45 AM. A funeral service and celebration of his life will follow there at 12 noon. Pastor Loren Winn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Maine Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded.Friends who wish may kindly consider directing memorials to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, Box 189, Maine, NY 13802 or to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
