Edward H Kent, Jr

Edward "Chuck" H. Kent, Jr., 88, of Newark Valley NY, left his earthly body after an extended illness on May 9th at home, and now resides with his Savior, Jesus Christ. Chuck is survived by the love of his life Charlotte (Vandermark) Kent of 67 years. He was born October 3rd , 1933 in Endicott, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Helen Kent Sr and brother-in-law Joseph Kneidinger. He is also survived by his children, Edward (Will) and Marcia Kent of Endicott, Kim and Sue Kent of Nichols, Shawn and Sammi Kent of White Plains, VA and Penny and Vince DeBaise of Camden, NY; grandchildren Jessica (Bill) Sullivan, Bethany (Mike) Mancini, Rebecca Kent, Benjamin Kent, Theron Kent, Kyle (Aubrey) Kent, Duncan Kent, Levi Kent, and Cheyenne (Daniel) Stroud; 5 great-grandchildren; his sister Dawn Kneidinger of Newark Valley, his brother Paul and Mary Jo Kent of Endicott, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Chuck served in the US Navy during the Korean conflict. He and Charlotte loved to travel after his 30 year career as building maintenance manager at River Mede Manor Nursing Home. Their biggest trip was driving to Alaska visiting Shawn and Sammi. They enjoyed competing in car shows (winning almost 50 trophies!), flea markets, and made many friends in all their travels. He also enjoyed going to the gym with Charlotte and having weekly lunches in Owego with their friends. He was a member of Union Center Christian Church of Endicott. He will be greatly missed by all. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 17th , 2022 from 3-5PM at MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St. Newark Valley, NY. Funeral services will be held at 5PM at the funeral home.
